"I keep the original pieces of porcelain I found from our shores without disturbing their shape or colour; I polish and drill them when I have to but I want my intrusion in their bodies minimal.
The pieces resulting are quite organic and then still reflecting the refinement of an era.
They refer to all the memories of tea time within the diverse porcelains, a universal language of harmony, peace and love.
I have been mudlarking* porcelain shards for the last 2 and 1/2 years. They are part of our history and I feel the need to acknowledge that as a witness of our past.
The porcelains and ceramics are mostly blue and white from old times using cobalt (Lapis Lazuli) pigment and relate most often to tea sets.
Everything is related: the blue from Lapis Lazuli to the prints on porcelains.
Everything is relative: where is preciousness; the memories, the history, the porcelain shards, the pigment or…the jewellery?"

"The porcelain shards I find are mostly blue and white from English tea set; I am interested in what they represent socially and culturally. They interact and talk about quality of craftsmanship VS mass production, repurposing VS impulsive consumption and acknowledge the past to create a better present/future."
Porcelain shards, tins, beer cans, and also, raw Lapis Lazuli hand cut/polished, wrinkled Freshwater Pearls, raw Sapphires, recycled Sterling Silver, waxed cord.
